Amherst House, Bordon

Named after Major General Amherst, we were placed in charge of the refurbishment of Amherst House in Bordon. The building is part of the area's rich military history.

The brief:

G&E Projects were tasked with the conversion of the former Major General’s home, originally constructed in 1907, into four two-bedroom luxury apartments.

With this came its own set of challenging issues; taking a 115 year-old building back to a bare shell, reconfiguring and carrying out a complete internal refurbishment to meet today’s regulations and standards.

The apartments featured high ceilings throughout, new feature windows, high specification fully fitted kitchens and double bedrooms, all with en-suite bathrooms.

The project was finished to a very high standard and to the client’s exacting expectations.
